How To Flush DNS In Windows

First you will need access to a command prompt.

“To get a prompt, launch start then click run, lastly type cmd then press OK.”

Once you get a prompt, I am going to talk about ipconfig. If you type that command alone, you will get your address of your machine. That is on the Internet. If you use “ipconfig /flushdns” it will clear your cache. Then type “ipconfig /registerdns” which will re-register dns like if you rebooted your machine. You are probably asking your self how does this help me? This will help if you; if you own your own domain name and updating dns to the proper server and wanting to see if the changes is complete.

I find it personaly to sometimes increase the speed of browsing the net. Its possible more browsing you do the more memory it uses to store the dns cache.

Here are the commands again do them in order as shown:
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /registerdns
