Internet Connection Issues (Routers)
A question has been submitted by jonathan:
In ubuntu you can try, Launch Terminal then type `sudo dhclient` The above instructions shows you how you can release and renew your internet address. From the looks of the address “192.168.2.2″ it tells me that you have a router. Your router sends addresses out too, but only local in your lan(home). Think of the router as the middle man between you and your ISP. If the above steps above does not help you may want to up the addresses leases in your router, using the routers admin area. Another tip is lower the amount of time a computer can lease a address. Both tips usually are found on the same page in your routers admin section. Which you should probably should do, since you share your connection with your neighbors. The following is how to configure a linksys router: When you see a user and pass. Type… When you get to the first page, you want to modify 3 settings. The Starting Address, Max DHCP Users, and Client Lease Time.
Click on the images to enlarge them. More computers on your network the slower your internet connection, because you will be sharing the connection with everyone who connects. So if you decide to do this, secure your network. Then give the pass to everyone you want to allow. If you use WEP64 as the encryption you can use your phone number as your password. i.e. (1235553456)
