Network Stumbler Working On Vista

How to get network stumbler working on vista?
Windows Vista and Windows XP has a compatibility option; however, it is well hidden with-in vista.
This should work for all apps that is not designed for vista.

1. Install the program
2. Find the shortcut that you use to launch the program.
3. Right Click on the shortcut
4. Towards the top you should see “Compatibility” Tab. Choose it!
5. Now, Click the box that says “Run this program in compatibility mode for:”
* Choose the operation system that the software was working for.
6. Lastly, Click the box that says “Run this program as an administrator” than click OK!

When the app is run it you will want to click allow.

That is it… Your app should be running….
If the problem persists, go back into that tab and choose different options.

I did what you said, and that indeed got rid of the Access Denied icon. However, now NS says, “No APs active.” I have a couple of active WAPs in the house, and I have no problem accessing these networks. Any idea why NS doesn’t see my WAPs? Here’s my OS and NIC:

    Vista Business SP1
    Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection NDIS 5.1

You can try closing net-stumbler, it might help.

You can also try changing the net-stumbler drivers.

Since, there is a vista network stumbler try install
    vistumbler.sourceforge.net

The main reason for this post if there is no vista compatible version and if you are stuck. It helps for most apps that does not support vista yet.
