I did what you said, and that indeed got rid of the Access Denied icon. However, now NS says, “No APs active.” I have a couple of active WAPs in the house, and I have no problem accessing these networks. Any idea why NS doesn’t see my WAPs? Here’s my OS and NIC:

You can try closing net-stumbler, it might help.
You can also try changing the net-stumbler drivers.
Since, there is a vista network stumbler try install
vistumbler.sourceforge.net
The main reason for this post if there is no vista compatible version and if you are stuck. It helps for most apps that does not support vista yet.
